Day 1. Arrive in Ulaanbaatar
Guests will be met at the airport and transferred to the hotel. After some rest enjoy a city sightseeing tour. This city tour will introduce you Ganddan Monastery – Mongolian Buddhist center, the central city square, Zaisan Memorial – an elevated hill. And choose to visit one museum. Dine out tonight at restaurant in Ulaanbaatar. (Hotel/ L, D)
Day 2. Ulaanbaatar – Kharakhorin
After breakfast, we will continue driving to Karakorin, site of the 13th century capital of the Mongolian empire created by Chinggis Khan. It is very little left from this legendary city. In the 16th century, Mongolian biggest monastery was build from the ruins of Karakorin. We will interest Erdene zuu monastery. (Ger camp/ B, L, D)
Day 3. Kharakhorin – Tsagaan sum
Travel along the mountain steppe area, where nomads spend many hours in the saddle hunting for their livestock in this vast area. (Ger camp/ B, L, D)
Day 4. Tsagaan sum – Terkh lake
Today evening we will reach Terkhiin Tsagaan lake. It is one of the most beautiful lakes of the country. The lake is surrounded by extinct and craterous volcanoes, and was formed by lava flows from a volcanic eruption many millennia ago. As a result of the volcano eruptions the landscape is covered with black volcanic rocks. (Ger camp/ B, L, D)
Day 5. Relaxing in Terkh lake
The entire day is yours to enjoy the many nice view of the lake. Numerous recreational opportunities are available, including swimming and short trekking. (Ger camp/ B, L, D)
Day 6. Terkh lake – Hajuu lake
Drive along very mountainous areas. Road is little bit difficult. (Ger camp/ B, L, D)
Day 7. Hajuu lake – Khuvsgul lake
When drive to the north, will traverse Murun aimag center. We will stop at the local market to stock up food after what we will go on driving. We will drive through the central grasslands where you will see large herds of horses, cows and yaks. (Ger camp/ B, L, D)
Day 8. Relaxing in Khuvsgul lake
It is a huge 2760 square km alpine lake /130 km in length and 30 km in width/, surrounded by mountain chains of more than 2000 meters high, thick pine forests and lush meadow with grazing yaks and horses. Around a dozen species of fish inhabit the lake and rivers. The most well known are the sturgeon, grayling, lennok, salmon, taimon, etc. We will spend a full day exploring the lakeshore and surrounding mountains. For those interested they will have the possibility to go horseback riding, visit Mongolian families, go hiking, go fishing, etc. (Ger camp/ B, L, D)
Day 9. Khuvsgul lake – Selenge river
We will drive eastwards into the direction of Selenge river. (Ger / B, L, D)
Day 10. Selenge river – Khutag Undur
In evening we will reach to the family wich is we will spend one more day. Night in family ger. (Ger / B, L, D)
Day 11. Relaxing in Khutag Undur
Undoubtedly, one of the main attractions of travelling to Mongolia is that, in the 21st century, half the people retain the nomadic lifestyle. Today’s programm gives you the opportunity to visit nomad families and experience their way of life, their culture and traditions. Enjoy a traditional Mongolian dinner and overnight with the family. Day 12. Khutag Undur – Amarbayasgalant
We will take the road again to Amarbayasgalant monastery. This monastery is considered the second most important in Mongolia and intact architectural complex in Mongolia. (Ger camp/ B, L, D)
Day 13. Amarbayasgalant – Ulaanbaatar
Drive back from the camp to Ulaanbaatar. You may choose an optional city tour where you will be taken to souvenir and cashmere shops before enjoying an evening concert of National Folklore. A farewell dinner and overnight in the hotel. (Hotel/ B, L, D)
