Horseback Riding in Khentii

Khentii aimag

Khentii aimag is a region  where Chinggis Khan was born and spent his childhood. As it is said in "Mongolian Secret Bureau", there are many places such as Burkhan Khaldun Mountain, Sengur Gorkhi Stream, Terguun Ondor, Khuldgar Khun, Ikhsiin Gazar and Oglogch's walls that are related to the history of Chinggis Khan.
This is a region of great natural beauty lying between the Daurian steppes and the Siberian taiga. Altitudinal variation at the site is significant, leading to the development of different habitats, including taiga, forest-steppe, steppe and tundra. The area is rich in rivers and streams. Over 30% of Mongolia’s forest resources are found in the Khentii Mountains.
