2nd day
Ulaanbaatar – Bayan Onjuul

BayanOnjuul is rocky mountain and part of sands area surrounding the steppe. You will see few gers in steppe and you will understand why Mongolia is considered one of the nation’s leading agriculture states when you see its animal and gers in steppe. Overnight in ger camp... B/L/D

3rd day
Bayan Onjuul – Delgerkhangay

Drive to Sangyn dalai, the apparent emptiness disappears and the traveler is struck by the tremendous diversity and uniqueness of steppe landscape. And travelers will meet nomads and enter into a ger, Mongolian nomads being very hospitable. While driving there is time to browse through this Mongolian style village. Delgerkhangai is mountains, which situated in mixed steppe – desert area.

Delgerkhangay – Yolyn am

Drive to Dalanzadgad province via Ulaan Tsav, long red mountains still keeping  dinosaur skeletons and eggs.  Yol canyon is situated south of Dalanzadgad town. In this canyon has several water sources and they freeze as glacier in the winter season, and completely melt in August. They are inhabited by numberless wild goats and eagles.

Yolyn am – Khongoryn els

Travel to Khongoryn els sand dunes, where you’ll take an interesting driving through Gobi desert.

6th day
Relaxing in Khongoryn els

You will enjoy private tour.  Take short camel riding in Khongoryn els.

7th day
Khongoryn els – Bayanzag

After breakfast drive to North. On the way visit the Flaming cliffs (dinosaur excavation site). Bayanzag is an area of red cliffs, which formed from the erosion of sand and rock over many thousands of years. It is also the site of several successful dinosaur excavations.

8th day
Bayanzag – Bayangol

This morning we will head for Saikhan Ovoo Sum. This small village is located along a small desert river named Ongiin Gol at the entrance of a beautiful mountainous region.
A little further southward is along the river, next to Hoshuu monastery.

9th day
Bayangol – Naiman lake

Travel to the picturesque landscape of Khangai region, where you’ll visit lovely preserved homes of yaks. The drive is considered nice scenic.

10th day
Relaxing in Naiman lake

Take short horse riding around Shireet lake, amongst forest. While you don’t have to commit to an excluding a horseback ride from a Mongolia itinerary would be a bit like going to Paris and skipping the Louver.

11th day
Naiman lake – Kharakhorin

After breakfast, we will continue driving to Karakorin, site of the 13th century capital of the Mongolian empire created by Chinggis Khan. It is very little left from this legendary city. In the 16th century, Mongolian biggest monastery was build from the ruins of Karakorin. Now Erdene Zuu monastery is all that remains of what once was a huge monastery of 100 temples and about 1000 lamas there.

Kharakhorin – Ikhtamir

We will continue the tour to the north. The rest of day is devoted to driving Tsetserleg aimag center.

13th day
Ikhtamir – Terkh lake

Today evening we will reach Terkhiin Tsagaan lake. It is one of the most beautiful lakes of the country. The lake is surrounded by extinct and craterous volcanoes, and was formed by lava flows from a volcanic eruption many millennia ago. As a result of the volcano eruptions the landscape is covered with black volcanic rocks.

14th day
Relaxing in Terkh lake

The entire day is yours to enjoy the many nice view of the lake. Numerous recreational opportunities are available, including fishing in Chuluut river and Terkh lake, swimming and short trekking.

Terkh lake – Teel

Drive along very mountainous areas. Road is little bit difficult.

16th day
Teel – Khuvsgul

When drive to the north, will traverse Murun aimag center. We will stop at the local market to stock up food after what we will go on driving. We will drive through the central grasslands where you will see large herds of horses, cows and yaks. We will visit Mongolian families.

17th day
Relaxing in Khuvsgul

It is a huge 2760 square km alpine lake /130 km in length and 30 km in width/, surrounded by mountain chains of more than 2000 meters high, thick pine forests and lush meadow with grazing yaks and horses. The lake and rivers are full of fish.  Around a dozen species of fish inhabit the lake and rivers. The most well known are the sturgeon, grayling, lennok, salmon, taimon, etc. We will spend a full day exploring the lakeshore and surrounding mountains. For those interested they will have the possibility to go horseback riding, visit Mongolian families, go hiking, go fishing, etc.

Khuvsgul – Tosontsengel

We will drive eastwards into the direction of Tosontsengel.

Tosontsengel – Bulgan

Will drive mountainous range and along beautiful nature.

20th day
Bulgan – Amarbaysgalgant

We will take the road again to Amarbayasgalant monastery. This monastery is considered the second most important in Mongolia and intact architectural complex in Mongolia.

Amarbaysgalant – Ulaanbaatar

Road length is 330km.

Transportation: This tour is supported by Russian minibus. Supporting team comprises an interpreter/guide, driver/mechanic and a cook.

Accommodation: Two nights at a centrally located two star hotel in Ulaanbaatar, 14 nights in ger camps in the countryside and the rest of the nights on tented camping.  Ger camp provides customers with restaurant services and washing facilities and always located at the best scenic spot of a tourist attraction site. Campsites can be selected for their scenic beauty and convenience.

Ger is a traditional dwelling which has stood the test of time being an ideal accommodation for nomadic way of life, easily assembled when dismantled takes up small space. A ger consists of felt covers, wooden columns and poles and lattice wall part.

Food: During your stay in cities and towns, you are served with standard European meals for your breakfast, lunch and supper. In the countryside, you have mostly very good Mongolian standard meals (some say Russian styled) where you stay.

Other equipment and supplies: Two-man and larger tents are provided along with mats, pillows and blankets for outdoor stays. However you should bring your own sleeping bag.
